The clinical history of a 78-year-old woman, phototype III according to Fitzpatrick's classification, who was exposed to the sun for a long time and presented skin with marked actinic damage evidenced by abundant actinic lentigines; she developed disseminated actinic keratoses in the neckline, lower limbs, upper limbs and face.
Based on this history and having consulted the corresponding bibliography, the clinical, etiopathogenic, epidemiologic, anatomopathologic characteristics and treatments of actinic keratoses are presented, as well as guidelines for their prevention.
