Abstract

The benefits that digital technology brings to the dental profession are obvious. Instantaneous images, ability to manage them, reduction in exposure dose, better image quality, better quality of information, etc. When stored on a compact disc, it takes up very little space, is very easy to move, duplicate, transfer or archive electronically. This form of communication allows the transmission of digital images or any type of data to the desired destination at the same time, regardless of distances or geographical boundaries. However, it should be noted that the conventional and digital technique reveals the same information content.
