Treatment with dental implants can be hampered by various factors, one of which is very frequent bone resorption. By virtue of the type of bone defect, different surgical techniques have been described with the objective of restoring bone loss, the most prominent being the autologous bone block grafting technique for severe resorption. Likewise, materials have been developed to replace bone, among them the block of hydroxyapatite of bovine origin that was used to increase the horizontal bone volume in the clinical case described in this work.
